Update: Still Playing and Enjoying L J Hutchen Alto Saxophone

Posted by Ernie Tripp on 28th Oct 2013

I just performed my first solo with my new L J Hutchen Alto Saxophone before an audience at church of over 150 people. (I had just turned 64 on October 26 and I played on October 27 after 40 years without playing a note. I have practiced for about a year now - first with my old Beuscher Alto and then with the L J Hutchen Alto that I purchase in June.) I was very nervous but the horn played easily. The sound was beautiful and full. Afterwards people complimented me which, of course, felt good. One person said she was moved almost to tears because of the beauty of the music. Needless to say I'm extremely satisfied with the quality of the L J Hutchen Alto Saxophone. It is a wonderful instrument especially at such a reasonable price. I am blessed!

    LJ Hutchen Saxophone Awesome Deal

Posted by Ernie Tripp on 2nd Jul 2013

After purchasing the LJ Hutchen Alto Saxophone a few weeks ago, I can only continue to give praise to Hyson Music Company. The horn was shipped quickly, packaged carefully, and performed wonderfully. I was not expecting such quality in a musical instrument that came with such a remarkably low price. Now that I have had nearly a month to use and practice with my new horn, I still believe that the quality surpassed any of my expectations. I have officially retired my Beuscher Alto since the new horn plays more easily and with robust sound. I can produce the "dry martini" sound that I enjoyed from saxophonist, Paul Desmond, too. (I am using a Yamaha 4C mouthpiece with 2.5 Vandoren reeds.)
