This is my son's 2nd year playing trumpet so I decided to buy him his own. So far, so good. He enjoys owning his own instrument. No issues thus far.

I purchased one of these Hutchen trumpets back in 2016. I played through High School and some into college (circa 1977) and took a long break for career and family. So I didn't want to make a big investment to see if I would enjoy playing trumpet again. I have been very satisfied with this trumpet. I have used the extra savings to purchase a few different size mouthpieces (something we didn't do much back in my day). I get a good range up to a High C above the staff, though my lip dependability isn't the best. And the tones of those notes in my range of comfortable play is great. The instrument responds well, valves are smooth. The finish has held up perfectly. I am comfortable recommending this model, unquestionably to someone starting out where you aren't sure the interest will last. It would cost you more to lease a trumpet than to have your own. I can remember back to my first instrument and having a new one of my own meant everything to me and served me, one of my kids and a grandchild well...but has since been retired.

My daughter loves her new trumpet. Her professional private lesson teacher said it is the best trumpet he has ever seen at this price point. Highly recommended for the beginner or intermediate player.

After breaking it in and having a chance to use it for a while I can say it definitely lived up to the highest expectations I had based on the descriptions of the product. Plays well, feels very durable and quality, nice finish, and it has pretty great tone. No complaints so far! I do prefer the softer cotton like cases, but that's really no big deal the case is fine.

We were looking for a trumpet for our 12 year old grandson who has had some experience playing trumpet in school bands. When he was 4 his Grandfather gave him a mouthpiece to practice with away from school. But our grandson loves the trumpet so we went looking. When we arrived at Paul Effman music store and decided on the LJ Hutchen Bb Trumpet Package we still had some questions. I ordered from Amazon but Amazon never placed the order with Hyson, I learned this after I called checking on the order. I canceled the Amazon order and ordered direct from Hyson. They got on it right away and shipped it second day air. It arrived as promised and works perfect. My son is a good musician, in his 3 year of high school band, but plays the Saxophone and wanted to try playing the Trumpet. He is completely satisfied. Great service and very helpful.

This Trumpet is amazing for the price. One of the things I liked most about it was how strictly made the valves were. There was hardly any wiggle or play in them. They were like butter to technically move through fast pieces of music. I also find this instrument to be far better at slotting notes than my previous plastic Trumpet I had been playing on. With the plastic on I would go from G to low C to higher C all open valved and the tuning would be similar for the C's but the G was sharper than the other two. This LJ Hutchen model has better intonation that makes it easier to play in tune. I noticed that with the stock mouthpiece it came with it had a bit of a watery sound at higher volumes. Using a Bach mouthpiece I had purchased cured that issue and really makes the Trumpet sound bright, precise, and like the Trumpet will do as you will it to. As far as looks goes, it is indeed beautiful and appears and feels to be a quality instrument that was carefully produced. My first Trumpet as a student many years ago was a BachTR300 that I no longer own. This LJ Hutchen Trumpet has allowed me to once again attempt to master the instrument that so long ago seemed an extension of myself.
